Research Support Services

Overview of Services

The Research Support Service team provides glassware/plasticware washing, autoclaving, and frozen sample protection services to our research laboratories.

• Dirty wares are picked up daily, washed, and sterilized (unless otherwise requested). Finished wares are returned to the labs, usually within 24 hours.
  
• For autoclave service during the workday (8AM-4PM), place your individually labeled items on the designated shelf in the glasswash facility for your building. An RSS team member will autoclave the items and then place them on the shelves near the entrance to the facility.

             The RSS autoclaves are available for researcher use after 4PM

• We can arrange for offsite storage of frozen samples at -80C or in liquid nitrogen. Backup freezers are available onsite, at -20°C or -80°C, for temporary storage if your freezer breaks or requires defrosting. Additionally, we can assist with transporting samples between units onsite using our mobile CryoCart.
